I can only hit a golf ball by foot drill .. I mean what's going on?

Ok, so I would be somewhat of a decent player. i played golf in high school and was actually very well then. i havent played much lately, but have begun to hit balls on the range. I was very disappointed because I could not hit the ball i is worthless. I could not even get the ball in the air. and almost always hard shanked to the right. so I started looking reasoning of why this was happening. I ended up trying to drill one foot I guess it is mainly to improve the balance .. and to my surprise, also almost falling, the ball went perfectly straight and about 160 yards with my 7 iron is what I used to hit. anyway i kept hitting well over half hour or so, hitting shots over all very good. Then I went back to my regular position and still could not hit the ball .. Why would that I could hit out of much of my left foot and I can only beat all standing on two feet? weird eh?

You are probably trying to lift the ball in the air, and therefore it sting. This used to be my problem, and I really do not think he was trying to lift it but could not break the habit. I tried this exercise and it worked. Sounds strange, but the practice of jumping in the air and hit the ball while in the air. Is supposed to help keep your eyes on the ball and hit the ball without hitting it. Just go to the driving range and practice before actually just hit about 20 balls while jumping in the air. It will not help immediately, but if you go at least 3 times a week and gradually will become the golfer who used to be
