Golf Ball Position Stance
Golf shot short, high and fading?

Hi, mainly with my driver, most shots tend to be high and with a slight fade, when my course is pretty windy. I’ve tried everything to get it lower, ball position in my stance, change of swing and relaxing more but it doesnt seem to work. And i can’t blame it on my driver as i have a R9, i mean i mainly hit fairways but the loss of distance is restricting me from lowering my handicap, i’m currently of 23 :(

This could be a part of a larger problem, and the best thing to do is get lessons from a PGA instructor. You can find a local PGA instructor through their website here: http://www.pga.com/profinder/

My primary advice is this though. When you are hitting high shots to the right your shoulders are being left open to the target, making you slide under the ball.

I would advise you to start hitting half shots feeling as though your chest and shoulders close over the ball. Imagine trapping the ball under the face. You want your shoulders to rotate on the same plane instead of sliding up and out. Another key swing thought for this is to feel as though your chest and body really move around and try to get yoru chest pointed at the target or even left of the target in your followthrough. It will feel like you are going to pull the ball, and you might. If you do start pulling the ball then that means your swing plane needs some work, but your ball flight should come down in the meantime.

As I mentioned a PGA professional can personally guide you through this very effectively and clearly if you have any troubles.

Hope this helps, and good luck!!
