Why effect of altitude in the distance a golf ball will travel?
When I play golf at a higher altitude the golf ball travels away. . . Why? It seems that the best conditions (distance) are high and warm (not hot) weather.
While I agree with most of all beings answer, the ball does not travel more with the air produced by the thinning of the higher elevations. I correct all saying the force of gravity less, they are right in saying this, but at the same time, there have been right here at sea level gravity is 9.8 m / s ^ 2 to 40 miles above the level of sea, the force of gravity is still 9.8 m / s ^ 2 and I doubt that is hitting the links at that height.
