Re-begginning Golfer, would like advice on new set of clubs?
Hi everyone,
I used to golf in high school but only with friends for fun. My first set of clubs I got at a garage sale. Old steel set that I just used to hit the ball around. Well, those are gone now.
Its been a long time since and I am finding in my job that many of the people around me golf and I would also like to pick it up again for my own pleasure. I am looking for a new set of clubs to begin/grow with. I am a value oriented person so and I have a little money now so that is not an issue if it is an investment. I am wondering which way I should go.
Should I buy a cheap set of clubs and then upgrade when I get better later? Should I buy a mid-range set to grow with? What brands/stores/locations online and BnM that I should look at? Is sizing a consideration? Anything else I am missing? Thanks.
don’t worry too much about equipment. just get an affordable full set. Spend your money on lessons, and upgrade later. If you must buy “name brand” clubs look into buying used. www.globalgolf.com is a great site for that.
one of the best deals i’ve found is the Nickent 3dx irons on ebay. one of them comes with a free 460cc square driver. they are solid clubs and very forgiving. i can’t find the link on ebay rite now, but just search “nickent 3dx best deal”. winning bids were around $280. great deal if u ask me…driver, 2 hybrids and 7 irons.
