Negative patterns of behavior
Have you ever wondered why so many people seem to gravitate towards certain addictive and / or negative behaviors when have problems? More explicitly, why so many people turn to drugs, alcoholism, promiscuity, gambling, pornography, crime or when faced with difficult problems in their lives? This regression repeated certain patterns of negative behavior is so common that makes me wonder if there is a "manual procedures "in each community that lists all these unhealthy habits and weaknesses as" to do "when dealing with life is difficult.
Using creativity to be negative
For one thing, why are not the most creative people from one point of view "negative" When facing adversity? For example, when life gets tough, instead of drinking and abusing drugs, why not use those "different" activities such as walking backwards across the street, bathing in icy water, shouting into a tree, or running around in his car on hot days with the heater on? When people face difficult times, rather than resort to gambling or promiscuity, why do not we hear of tens of thousands of people who painted her face, she went to work without any shoes or socks, threw a golf ball through the window of his neighbor, or shaved their heads while in church? All these examples may seem strange, but are they really stranger than many of the problems of people are involved in after resorting to crime, promiscuity, or drug or alcohol abuse when their lives become problematic?
Using creativity to be positive
Moreover, what about "thinking outside the box" in a more "positive" when faced with adversity? For example, when facing difficult times, why do not we hear about thousands of people who bought her flowers unexpectedly spouse who chose to exercise, they read their children a bedtime story, or helped a friend in need? When stumped by difficult life circumstances why we have not heard of crowd of people who visit a friend or relative in hospital, practicing a musical instrument, which brought a pet home for their children, or who spontaneously decided take your spouse to his favorite restaurant for dinner?
The pursuit of happiness
The point is so important that it deserves to be asked again: Why so many people turn to drugs, alcohol abuse, promiscuity, gambling, pornography, crime or when faced with difficulties in their lives? Perhaps a large part of the problem is that many people simply do not know how to find lasting happiness in their lives. Put another way, according to Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, there is a "growing tendency for people to find temporary happiness in alcohol, drugs, pornography, sex and consumerism.
Kinds of happiness in the School of
If people do not know what that leads to long-term happiness, what can be done to change this? In a word, I think people need to learn about happiness in school. Let me explain. I think part of our formal education process must focus on the development of hobbies, interests and career opportunities on which students can become passionate. What may help guide this process are "happiness lessons" that "textbooks for use of happiness" that contain a system of classification or taxonomy of interests, hobbies, and careers that have brought joy and satisfaction to others. These textbooks are provided many examples of different "paths to happiness" experienced by others – examples that can serve as "what if" scenarios that help to activate the imagination of students with interesting and meaningful opportunities in their lives.
Conclusion
Many people seem to resort to negative behaviors and activities such as drugs, alcohol abuse, pornography, gambling, the promiscuity, and crime, when life is difficult and things do not go as expected. This relationship is quite possible that these people do not know how to make the process creative and develop hobbies, interests, careers and love that leads to long-term happiness.
Why not help people to develop a possibility "oriented" by the Foundation for the introduction of a series of "happiness classes" while attending school? In the long run, these studies could be as important, if not more important in the development of individuals happy and productive as any other topic that students are exposed.
