Should we go to Maui or Honolulu?
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Hawaii next spring. We have been debating between Maui or Honolulu. I went to Honolulu for my senior trip when I was 18 and he has never been at all. We are 25 now so I’m not sure where we should go. We aren’t into the club or the night life scene so that’s not important. We just want to go to the beach and see sights and enjoy the island. But everytime I look up Maui online it brings up Golf Courses and stuff that looks like “older” people would enjoy it. So I’m not sure where we should go………
honolulu is like any big crowded fast paced city —traffic—people but lots of nightlife—clubs parties
but you can drive to the north shore or back side of the island
maui is much less crowded—not much over a 100,000 people on the entire island
it has a much more laid back flavor to it—slower pace of life
and there is a young crowd there —try hard rock cafe on a monday[?? ask at bar] lahaina side
or any number of local hangs on the beach road or near it on the kihei side
for sheer beauty—maui is most likely the best choice
