We all enjoy a holiday every now and again. A chance to get away from the stresses and strains of modern day life and time to kick back and relax and play a few rounds of golf. There are a range of different courses that can be found in Southern Europe that offer challenging courses set in wonderful locations.
The Canary Islands has long been a favourite of golfers looking to combine challenging courses with some sun. The Canaries are very fortunate in that they get great weather all year round which means the conditions will be nigh on perfect with little wind and well kept greens for all golfers to test their skills on.
For those of a beginners level the Canaries has some brilliant golfing schools were you can learn the basics before tackling the courses themselves. Even if you have been playing golf for many years you may learn something new when attending the golf schools as they are taught by seasoned professional coaches that have many useful tips to perfecting your swing or reading the green when putting.
Some Golf Courses that you may want to consider are Jandia Golf Course that is situated in Fuerteventura, Abama Golf Course in Tenerife and Meloneras Golf Course in Gran Canaria. All these courses and more will be a test for all golfers of all levels as the courses are usually located near the ocean which adds an additional level of difficulty to each hole.
France is another popular golfing destination. France has golf courses spread throughout the country and depending on where you go and at what time of the year, you will be greeted with varying weather conditions. The north is considerably cooler than the south but during winter, the weather can be very unpredictable so you may be facing bright sunshine with little wind one day and blustering winds and rain on another.
Germany can be similar weather to the UK during the winter but is generally hotter in the summer. This means you will be facing varying conditions that should mean you are constantly thinking about your next shot. Courses in Germany are appearing more often as popularity in the country soars, thanks largely to Bernhard Langer.
Wherever you choose to go you should make sure you are fully insured along with your Golf Clubs. A great golf holiday can quickly turn into a disaster if anything happened to you or your clubs.
