Do you think that golf technology has gone too far? And What affect will it eventually have on the sport?
Golf technology ,such as drivers has changed significantly over the past few years, with the introduction of 460cc heads and other improvements that improve overall performance. This may lead Golf Course designers to build new , possibly 8,000 yards courses to compensate for the technology and improved distance and function of modern Golf Clubs. Having such large and exclusive courses may lead drastic changes in the cost of green fees and other miscellaneous expenses and allow only people with a lot of extra time and money to be able to enjoy the sport of golf.
i don’t think it has. the average players handicap is still 18. this has not changed. as you mentioned,in theory if used properly the large head should help. in theory people swing to hard. this causes misses to go more offline. instead of being light rough. you are additional 12 yards deeper. closer to the green. but ball is lot. same with these zip grooves. cause to many skulled shots. players try to back the ball up. again swing to hard skull it over the green. or move a lot of earth but hit so nuch earth super fat ball does not even move. a great question. if used properly scores should be lower. in fact nothing has changed. players want the new driver. does not matter that they have not got the feel for old one yet. it is mind over matter. thank you.
