Can anyone answer these questions about defibrillators?
Read about the woman who just died on the plane from American Airlines and its cousin said that was not properly assisted with oxygen and a defibrillator, it prompted me to ask about this machine that I have heard for a few years now. One of the first things I heard about it was the first President Bush was forced to use one of these after a heart problem does about 5 years. Then I heard always taken over the Golf Carts to help some of the players and most …. I recently heard on the radio that more safety for the victim of a heart attack in a casino then even a hospital (!!!), simply because it takes that provide these. My questions are: How really effective are they? Why not require that public places have them? "It is recommended for most heart patients or only those diagnosed with probable heart attack victims? Have any insurance or Medicare cover? Any other information. will be appreciated, family member have heart disease.
There are two types of defibrillators. You may have to implement in you (internal defibrillator) with a cable that runs in your heart and controls its contractions. Or you can make those who are placed in public (external) that can be used to shock people who have a heart attack. More recently, the AED (automatic external defibrillator) was introduced as a defibrillator is much simpler than those trained would be easy to use and protected by Good Samaritan law. There are small electrical signals (millivolt level) that run through your heart and tell you when to contract. When is healthy these electrical signals passing through his heart in a rhythmic manner, so that the rhythmic contractions that propel the blood through your body and let your body to function normally. If your heart is weak or old, these electrical signals can get interrupted, and can go crazy and out of rhythm. This makes the heart beat irregularly (arrhythmia). What is a defibrillator not (external or internal) is to offer a much higher level of electricity to your heart, and the interruption of these electrical signals mad and receives electrical signals back into the rhythm. To answer your specific questions: How really effective are they? Defibrillators internally, also known as pacemakers, are very effective and are implanted in thousands of people every year. External defibrillators are an effective treatment only if the person receiving has an arrhythmia, ie the electric madness signal rate was talking before. If you're in the mall and someone crashes into the ground clutching his chest like theyre having a heart attack, it will not be able to tell if they're having an arrhythmia or a heart condition. So using an AED to shock his heart will not be effective if they have a blocked artery or some other type of electrical condition. Why not require most public places have them? Some reasons. First, a business that is in your building may have to train their employees to use them. Many people feel uncomfortable delivering electric shocks people who are on the ground with a heart attack. Many people do not feel comfortable driving a device that provides as much electricity. If firms are to people using these devices, someone can use one that does not know how and could end up hurting themselves or others. So do not get external defibrillators in a lot of public places because the cost of training people to use them and avoid lawsuits. However, in many places, laws are made to protect people with the Good Samaritan law, if something goes wrong with the use of DEA. "It is recommended for most heart patients or only those diagnosed as probable attack victims heart? For pacemakers and internal devices are given to people because they have electrical signaling problems. For the DEA, is used to anyone grab the chest and the symptoms of a heart attack, although as I said before, this is hard to say based on looking at the person. Have any insurance or Medicare cover? For pacemakers or internal defibrillators, yes. Not sure about the external ones, such as those assigned to a business and not a specific person.
