Three Piece Golf Ball Construction
Modern three piece Golf Balls are typically made of a synthetic core that is the most Bead size and mass, an intermediate layer that is relatively thin outer cover.
Different manufacturers make their three balls piece using materials different, but all follow the general design above. The core is usually made of rubber and can not be spherical. It may not even be solid as some golf balls has a liquid core. It may also contain specific weights made of materials such as tungsten to ensure a perfect center of balance.
The thin middle layer is sometimes referred to as the mantle is normally made from a substance called Surlyn which is a resin that has specific advantageous properties for the manufacture golf balls. Surlyn is particularly known for its strength, hardness and rigidity and is particularly resistant to cuts and abrasions, ideal for a ball that is constantly being beaten with a metal stick.
On top of all this is the outer layer or cover again from a durable material that allows the player to feel the impact of clubhead to the ball. The most important thing people notice about the outer cover of a golf ball but the dimples. The dimples on a golf ball aerodynamics and help can help the player control lots of different aspects of making businesses including, speed, distance and trajectory. air friction is a particular problem associated with sending a golf ball in the right direction and is one of the things that the dimples are used to control. A solid ball will tend to push the air in front her more than does the front air. As there is less air in the vicinity of the ball, lift is reduced. The dimples of a golf ball tends to allow air to be close to the ball before it spreads, so the elevator maintenance for longer. By entering a turn, the player can use the dimples on the ball to manipulate the flow of air over the surface of the ball that allows you to increase lift or even change the direction of the ball in flight.
The modern materials used in the construction of the golf ball also makes it almost indestructible. You can not break or cut which is much more durable than balls course of the past.
As you can probably imagine modern three-piece golf balls are relatively difficult to produce, especially those with a nucleus liquid. This makes them more expensive, but all players will notice a greater ability to control the ball and so the extra expense is generally considered to be worth it.
