Does anybody test me golf is a sport! My friends are idiots …?

Well from what I posted on Facebook that if Tom Watson won the Open will be remembered as one of the greatest achievements in sports history. Not long afterwards I received a few calls from friends saying he was an idiot and that isn't even golf a sport. I remember seeing something on the golf channel the other day that explains why golf is a sport and I remember saying yah Ef time somebody did it well. I can not seem find that video anywhere, and any article which explains why golf is a sport. I do not understand how golf is a sport. you have to have great cordination hand eye, your miles on foot each round, hitting a golf ball with a stick in more than 110 miles per hour in some cases, more athletic, the best golfer who usually play. So how not golf a sport? Can anyone give me a very good ammunition to fire my friends keep me both love golf extraction.
