to use MKS units and the math is right I agree with your answer the only possibility I can think of is that maybe they wanted the answer in pounds instead of N in that case, you should change 55 g of slugs (English system unit of mass) * 55 g (1 lb / 453.6 g) * (1 slug / £ 32.17) = 0.00377 slug then F = 0.00377 * 170 / 0.0022 = 291.3 pounds which is more like a factor of 4 to 10, but do it what you want.
